CLUB COMPETITIONS
Closing date for entries into club competitions this year is 2nd May. If you haven't put in your entries yet please let Lyn have your form and payment (or pay by BACS as instructed on form). We hope our members will all have a go in a few of these as this gives people the opportunity to play different types of games and also, of course, leads into an enjoyable presentation evening at the end of the year.
The list for the 2 wood pairs competition on Sunday 11 May is on the notice board so please sign up by Tuesday 7 May so that the draw and playing plan can be made. This is a fun afternoon for all members - remember to bring a picnic. A raffle prize would also be appreciated.
BOWLS OPEN DAY
Open day was a great success - thanks to all who turned up to help especially Chris and Amanda who were so helpful and encouraging to visitors. Obviously also made better by beautiful sunshine and Jackie's cakes!! Welcome to our new members - we hope they will enjoy being part of Witney Mills and find bowling to be fun and interesting.
If anyone else is interested in having a go to see if they like the thought of playing bowls it is never too late so contact us via the email link on this website and we will be pleased to arrange to meet you at the green and give you the opportunity to try it out.
PREPARING FOR NEW SEASON
Many thanks to those of you who came up to help get the changing rooms etc ready for the new season - how brilliant to see so many members making the effort to help out - that is what makes our club so good.
COUNTY SHORT MAT SINGLES FINALS
Congratulations to Glenn Pounder who reached the final of the County Short Mat final this year. Glenn has proved himself to be an extremely good short mat bowler and we wish him continued success in the future.
FIXTURES 2025
Fixtures now all available on the fixtures link. Members can get their cards from Rosemary Robinson if they don't already have one.
CONGRATULATIONS
A great day for our members who represent the OBA in county bowls matches. On Wednesday 11th September during the game at Broadway, Worcestershire Richard Barnett received an award for gaining his 100th badge and Les Days was also recognised for playing his 50th game.
